Supernatural Lacquer - 2 Minutes to Midnight Review

Oh yes, more polish! I know, I've slacking on getting posts up because of Christmas and just my general trying to get back into a rhythm with husband being back in the country (it's difficult!!). Today, however, is a gorgeous polish from Supernatural Lacquerral Lacquer (her store is currently closed but join the Facebook Group to find out when her store will be reopened).

Today I have 2 Minutes to Midnight, which was an exclusive to PolishCon that she (finally) made available to those of us that couldn't make it to PolishCon!

2 Minutes to Midnight is a deep purple base with blue shimmer and rainbow flakes and glitters.

Alpha Outpost - The Medic Review

What is Alpha Outpost?: Alpha Outpost is a monthly subscription that has each month centered around a different theme. For the first three boxes you receive, it will be their pre-set ones that they feel everyone should get (EDC, The Gentleman, and The Medic). Your first box is supposed to ship within two business days (mine actually shipped six business days later) with the second and third boxes shipping on the 8th of the following months (neither of mine did this, one actually shipped nearly a month late).
Starting with your fourth month and continuing, you will receive the current box and they will ship on the 28th. They do ship using Priority Mail, which means your box should get to you quickly. They have been having some issues with shipping but they have promised me they are working on making it better (they haven't yet as of 12/29).

How Much is Alpha Outpost?: Alpha Outpost is $39.95/month with $6.95 shipping or $499/year with free shipping. Also, if you sign up for the yearly subscription you receive a bonus 'Swag Pack.' (We received ours about a week after ordering.)

In case you ever needed something to stitch you back up, here's your box!

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab - Nuclear Winter Review

Another day, another gorgeous polish! Like I mentioned last time, this is from Black Phoenix Trading Post (the brand I found at Dragon Con) which is a sister company of Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab and where you can find any perfume oil blend you might want as well as the most gorgeous statues and just about anything random and nerdy you could possibly wish for.

Don't forget to check out my review of Blue Dragonscale if you haven't seen it already!

Nuclear Winter is a silver microglitter that's full of blue-silver holographic glitters.

Pretty & Polished - Amethyst or Am I That Review

It's time for another polish from Pretty & Polished, and it's another purple. I know, I've been on a purple kick but my birthstone is Amethyst and this is named after that so I had to grab it up. This polish is also available currently so you should definitely grab it!

Amethyst or Am I That is a gorgeous smokey bright purple in the Dusty Creme formula.

I admit, I looked up what came in The Gentleman before this box arrived. It was what convinced me, along with the EDC Box, that this subscription might be worth it.

The Howling Boutique's Supermoon Lacquer - Beta 04 Review

It's time for another review of a gorgeous polish from The Howling Boutique's Supermoon Lacquer! If you haven't seen them already, she makes some gorgeous Beta polishes that are ones she's created but haven't been perfect for her collection, and they are stunning! You can get some really unique and different polishes and I highly suggest grabbing up a set when she restocks! Betas come in sets of two and each set is $15.

Pretty & Polished - Antiqued Review

I did a thing, actually I've been doing a thing. I've amassed quite a few nail polishes over the past couple of months that I've purchased and haven't swatched or published for reviews, but that are absolutely amazing and deserve their own posts. I'm going to start posting these regularly so keep an eye out, and I'll mix up the brands so it's not the same thing every day!

First up, Antiqued by Pretty & Polished. This polish isn't currently available but I'm guessing there's always a chance for a revival! Antiqued is from the Rustic Collection back from this past Spring but was just semi-recently taken out of the shop.

le Polish 12 Days of Polish - A Drive With My Love Review

Press Sample.
In case you haven't been paying attention to the le Polish Lovelies group the past two weeks, the maker of le Polish teamed up with 12 different bloggers to create 12 different polishes. I will have the other 11 linked at the end, but this is the final collab! Of course I couldn't say no to such a sweet maker and I was so excited to create a polish with her!

My polish is inspired by the Lights of Life (a local college that puts on this spectacular full-campus Christmas light setup each year that you drive through the campus and see all of their lights) and specifically this picture. My husband and I go every year, sometimes a few times each year, to just spend time together and look at all of their amazing lights. Going to look at Christmas lights is something we both did prior to dating/marrying so it's become something we still do now that we are together.

Important information: All 12 polishes will be available on November 25th at midnight EST only on le Polish. Each polish will be $10 and will only be available in full size.

The Don Deeva Hella Holo Customs Review

Warning: Photo heavy post.

Today I have three polishes that while no longer available, I felt must be shared. This trio was made for the Hella Holo Customs Facebook Group (a group full of those of us with a particular affection for holographic polishes), which means you had to be a part of that group to purchase. A little info: HHC is a closed Facebook Group where each month, makers team up with the HHC group to create customs that are all things holographic. It's required to be in the group to purchase these polishes, so you might as well join!

These were sold a few months ago, but The Don Deeva is still creating her own magic frequently with gorgeous polishes that are extremely difficult to say no to.

Alpha Outpost - EDC Review

They have been having some issues with shipping but they have promised me they are working on making it better. We have a year of boxes, so I hope so!

How Much is Alpha Outpost?: Alpha Outpost is $39.95/month with $6.95 shipping or $499/year with free shipping. Also, if you sign up for the yearly subscription you receive a bonus 'Swag Pack.' (We received ours about a week after ordering.)

First box, The EDC.

Creme a la Mode - Summer 2016

Okay, this is super delayed. It's also a little weird because I started working on this with my old setup and then got sidetracked with things and then did the rest later on, thus a little bit difference in lighting and a lot difference in background. This is the Summer Creme a la Mode Box.

The Creme a la Mode Box is four makers that work together to bring cremes into our lives. Yeah, there are tons of boxes made up of holographics and other in your face finishes, but cremes are a finish that are difficult to perfect while still having the perfect formula, great color payoff, a lasting polish, and something to write home about. This polish box is all about doing that, and it's all from established brands. The box is quarterly and you just purchase it during the pre-order when that's open!

Included in the box is Indigo Bananas, Literary Lacquers, Digital Nails, and Octopus Party Nail Lacquer. All four were new brands to me at the time of purchase, so I was really thrilled to try this.

Pretty & Polished Partial Winter Collection 2016

Yes, ladies and gentleman, Pretty & Polished has released their Winter Collection for 2016. This collection actually released yesterday, so all 12 polishes are already available (I chose four to review, I will have links to other reviews at the bottom of this post to see everyone else's)! If you buy all 12 the cost is a discounted $90, or you can buy them separately! Dusty Cremes are $7.50, Crellies and Glitters are $8.50, and Multichromes are $9 if you buy them separately. Like always, you can use code 'rambling10' to get your discount!

Make sure you are following me on Instagram, videos showing off the color shifts as well as other photos will be shared there!

Like I mentioned, I chose four polishes to review! I chose Sleighing It, I Need a Taupe-ical Vacation, Yule Think Me Later, and That's Just Plum Dandy.

Lip Love - September 2016

What is Lip Love?: Lip Love is a monthly subscription box by So Susan. Each month will include at least three full-sized products, one bonus makeup, and one bonus accessory. Each month you get a unique canvas bag as well.

How Much is Lip Love?: Lip Love is $20.95 (American) per month with international shipping available. I did have to pay a foreign transaction fee because they are located in the UK, so make sure you know that ahead of time. They have begun shipping from a US distribution center, but shipping time doesn't seem to have gotten any faster. The bags get cheaper if you do longer subscriptions, so that's always great.

See past Lip Love reviews here!

I really like the foxes on this month's bag!

Polish Your Dreams Brand Review Including Swatches

I'm going to preface this by saying this is not a positive review. At the end of this post, there will not be a 'there are flaws but you should still consider buying from this brand.' I tried to give this brand every chance, even waiting to post this review as well as some swatches. This order was made at the end of May, so I have been holding onto this for quite some time. If you have any suggestions, comments, or critiques, let me know.

First issue: shipping time. Like I mentioned, I made the order at the end of May and received it at the end of June. Her stated turn-around time was 2-3 weeks, and it was three weeks before I received tracking. I feel like if I hadn't hounded her numerous times about shipping my order and getting the tracking, she would have let it slide right past the three-week mark. Later on, her stated turn-around time became 4-6 weeks.

Second issue: misrepresenting polish. I ordered six polishes, which is unheard of for me to do from a new brand, but she was having what seemed like an amazing sale (50% off). Side note: it turns out that pricing her polishes higher and constantly having large value sales is her standard. Of the six polishes, none of them looked like swatches that were on her website. Either the UV polishes didn't turn the shades that were shown or the polishes just didn't perform the way they were shown to.

Third issue: customer service fails. After receiving my polishes and initially testing them , I made some statements in a Facebook Group. At that same time, I felt it pertinent to personally message her to let her know my displeasure. It was over a month and after other comments were made by myself and others that she felt it time to respond to me. I've said it numerous times, you can have failings with polish or long shipping times but I might consider purchasing from you again if you have excellent customer service. If you have two of those, I'm less likely but would still consider it. All three and I'm left with this.

Now on to some pictures. This won't be a typical post with full sets of swatches. This is also not my best work, due to my complete and utter disappointment with both the maker and the polish. I felt it important to share my story in case the maker does decide to come back to the polish world, just so others aren't hurt the same way I was.

TacPack - July

What is TacPack?: TacPack is a monthly subscription box full of gun gear for shooters and gun fanatics. Each month may include AR15 accessories, knives, EDC tools, targets, patches, shirts, cleaning materials, and stickers. Each box will include 3-7 pieces each month. You tell them your shirt size and glove size, so there's a slight hint at what might be in boxes!

How Much is TacPack?: The subscription is currently $49.95. You can also purchase past boxes when they are available and even items from the past boxes or specialty boxes.

Check out past TacPack reviews here.

If your husband/boyfriend/brother/father/male friend likes guns or EDC (everyday carry), this is the perfect box for them. It's a little on the pricier side of subscriptions, but the boxes almost always have a value of $100 or close to it. I feel like starting a subscription is a great way to give a fun Christmas present, and this one rocks! Lip Love - August 2016
